O Lord, source of all truth, architect of peace and reconciliation, Shepherd of humanity and Deliverer of all, as the mountains surround Jerusalem, so may Your peace surround us always.
We come before You, remembering Your steadfast peace, the same peace that strengthened the hands of the confessors at Augsburg through the past five centuries. Let that peace continue to move within us, bind us together, and send us into a fractured, unstable, and divided world as instruments of hope and agents of Your transforming grace. Empower Your Church and its leaders to hear Your voice, to walk in Your truth, and to be strengthened by Your Holy Spirit to stand firm in faith.
We give thanks for 500 years of faithfulness and shared journey in Christ, even amid doctrinal differences. We pray for the unity of the Church, the body and bride of Christ worldwide—not a forced unity of silence, but a living symphony of diverse voices lifted in truth and love. Where we have built walls that divide, teach us to build tables of grace where all may be welcomed. As Christ prayed, make us one in Him, that the world may believe. Reconcile us to one another in Christ, and draw Your Church into visible unity.
Grant us courage to speak truth in a troubled world, and humility to confront sin with love. Send Your Holy Spirit to guide, teach, and remind us of Your ways, that we may remain in You and bear lasting fruit. Remove every spirit of division within Your Church, and restrain all that fosters conflict in Your name. Lead us on the path of the crucified Christ, that we may embody His love and truth.
Heal the wounds of the past that continue to divide and weaken Your Church. Restore what has been broken, and renew our hearts to reflect Your image in the world. Draw us closer to You, and through us draw many more into Your Kingdom.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
